Post-game thoughts, observations, random BS - (USA)
Good win for the lads tonight. Burgundy and Royal Blue were the clear deservers of victory, and victory they got. No, I’m not going to start a campaign, after this tilt, to get Andrew Raycroft’s name on the all-star ballot. Rayzor allowed three nothing-but-netters from fairly decent range, and was not tested much otherwise. But he gets the W, his third of the year - or one more than he had all of last year in the T.O. Svats was outstanding. Amazing that Tony G. only played him three minutes

The Impact of Commonwealth Games on Tourism - (USA)
An overview of the Impact of Commonwealth Games on Tourism. Being able to bring in the 2010 CWG, Common Wealth Games, to Delhi, the National Capital Territory (NCT) as the host country has been a big boost for brand India. Delhi stretches for 1483 km, skimming border areas of States of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and the contact ability of CWG (Common Wealth Games) Delhi 2010 on tourism is obviously expected to help build and establish better, stronger and enviable resources and imag

The Top Ten Ice Girls Groups Of The NHL - (USA)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope everyone’s Turkey Day was fantastic and that football didn’t ruin your day in any way. Something thing that I am really thankful for year round is the NHL. It’s by far my favorite sport and the Stanley Cup is the hardest earned trophy in all of sports. One thing hockey has always lacked (and rightly so) is cheerleaders. Think about it, the NBA, NFL, and AFL have them. College sports have them, why not the NHL? We’ll for one thing, I just can’t get into the f

Favorite Things Friday - (USA)
My favorite thing for this week is...hockey or more specifically Red W1ngs hockey! I absolutely love this time of year! It is playoff time and since the Red W1ngs are always in contention it makes for a great time. I did not start off liking hockey. As a kid I was more like the boy my dad (I use this term loosely) never had. He had me playing softball at like age 6 and not T-ball no way was a child of his going to play a "wimpy" game like that (his words). I was bowling at age 5. And on the we

Mikko Koivu and five power play goals power the Wild past Nashville in 6-2 road victory - (USA)
When Tammy Wynette first sang the song "Stand By Your Man" little did she know that she could've been writing a song that would be a great lesson to a professional hockey team located in the home of Country Music; Nashville, Tennessee. While there is a core of fans that cheer loudly every night, i.e. the Cellblock located in section 303 at the Sommet Center the team suffers from a lack of local support from the corporate sector. This lack of a corporate base of support has created an inability

Extreme Kayaking Down The UK’s Tallest Dam - (USA)
Wow. Robert Gale found and posted this one over on A Welsh View. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend his blog. Brantford Sports Teams - (USA)
By Wes Fernley It is no surprise that there are plenty of sports going on in Brantford, Ontario. As the hometown of hockey star and sports legend Wayne Gretzky, there is a strong association between sports and Brantford. It is also famed for hosting many sports tournaments every year, including the Annual Wayne Gretzky Tournament. Its local sports teams go beyond just hockey, however. With Two NHL Game 7’s Left, One Has To Be Great…Right? - (USA)
Total Pro Sports - Anyone who is a fan of the game of hockey had to be looking forward to last night's battle between Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby . Oops. I mean the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins. With the exception of Penguin fans, it also seems fair to say that all who tuned in were treated to a disappointing game. The Caps had little jump and the Pens had a whole lot of it. Dominating the first period, Pittsburgh got up 2-0 on goals from Crosby and Craig Adams .

The Bottom of the NHL’s Barrel in 09-10 - (USA)
The Bottom of the NHL’s Barrel in 09-10 by Glenn SoroccaIt is plain to see who is not going to make the grade again this year in the NHL. This off season has been a fairly slow one in comparison to previous years, but with that being said – the strong got stronger, the weak got weaker. The following list comprises the 5 teams that I believe will have the worst seasons in 2010. I haven’t ranked these from worst of the worst to best of the worst, because they’re all really bad and it’s har

Fantasy Baseball Tonight 5/14; Starting Pitchers and Injury News - (USA)
Cole Hamels pitched well again, and perhaps now he has put those nagging injuries behind him. Hamels allowed just one earned run over seven innings, walked just one, and struck out nine. Even when he was getting hurt (sprained ankle, getting hit by the batted ball), he was still pitching well at the time of the injury, so I expected him to do well when he was healthy. Hamels looks like he is back to the elite level, but you always have that injury concern in the back of your mind. Brad Li
