MILWAUKEE (AP) – A gay arts group has sued the city of Milwaukee in federal court for violating its free speech rights three years ago when officials shut down a musical revue featuring nudity. The city temporarily shut down performances of Naked Boys Singing! in August 2005 while it considered the Milwaukee Gay Arts Center’s application for a theater permit. The group later received a permit and reopened the show. Larry Dupuis, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Wisco

Can you hear me now? Work-related injuries for musicians - (USA)
Last week, 61-year old rock musician Steven Tyler fell off the stage and suffered a broken shoulder, along with stitches in his head and back. He has had to cancel upcoming shows, though it's likely he'll be on a self-imposed return-to-work plan in the near future. Many musicians are like athletes in their devotion to their profession and their determination to return to work as soon as feasible. (Not to mention the economic impact of canceling shows, which although there is event cancellation

Forget About April - (USA)
Life is crazy.  Forget about April being the cruelest month. T. S. Eliot clearly didn’t have three school-aged children and a job in school administration–all of which mean never having to be bored in May. We’ve got two weeks and counting before school is over and it’s time to put the kids on the bus to camp on June 1.  Before then, we’ll be wrapping up Soccer Boy’s last year of elementary school with lots of special events to mark the occasion.  DD1 and DD2 both had their spring concerts–orch

The actor Tony Sirico, who has achieved fame as the character Paulie “Walnuts” Gaultieri on the TV series “The Sopranos,” did not always aspire to be an actor. Math Can Scar You for Life - (USA)
I remember a Dr. Katz episode from quite awhile ago. There was a comedian on it who talked about being a substitute teacher and loving the little kids because they don’t know anything yet. He wrote on the blackboard: One plus one equals chair, and remarked, “Look, they are writing it down!”   One of those kids was probably me after my will had been broken in tenth grade geometry class.  In Algebra II, I struggled, but geometry was truly the boulevard of broken dreams, where I couldn’t go on to

Exclusive Interview GI Joes Marlon Wayans - (USA)
As Marlon Wayans sees it, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has everything he and the audience could possibly ask for. Not only is he a black character who doesn’t die in the first five minutes, not only does he get to romance the pretty red-haired girl, but the movie features both kick-ass ninjas and a girl-on-girl fight. What more could audiences want? In our phone interview last weekend, Wayans admitted that the fanboys would be the toughest audience for the movie, but he felt confident that, no m
